Specialization
AVIONCS EQUIPMENTS AND DEVICES
The specialization Avioncs Equipments and Devices was founded in 1992, with the name 'Board Equipments and Devices', as a course of 5 years which prepared engineers in the Aerospace Engineering domain. Now, after aligning Romanian technical education to European standards, the study cicle was reduced to 4 years. This specializations trains specialists in the Aerospace Engineering domain, especially for avionics. In Romania, there are only 2 faculties which have this specialization (Faculty of Aerospace Engineering - Bucharest and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering - Craiova). The specialists trained here have solid training and knowledge which allow them to work both in the operation of aircrafts, airport facilities, and in the top field of Aerospace research and design. Since the Aerospace Engineering field requires a multidisciplinary training, Avioncs Equipments and Devices steps up the study of navigation systems, routing aerospace, gyroscopic, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, automation, process computers on aircrafts board.
The specialization Avioncs Equipments and Devices has an excellent material endowment. This specialization labs present industrial type facilities and students can deepen, since college, the study in mining equipments and facilities found in the Aerospace domain. The specialization has a group of laboratories with a total of 200 laboratory - specific works of aviation, from different disciplines. In the first two years of study, the students have access to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering other labs during the basic training module.
The graduates of this specialization are able to follow the Aviation Master studies and PhD studies both at home and abroad. Some graduates of this specialization have already been accepted to Master and PhD studies in universities from France, Italy, and Canada. The following of these studies opens the access in the Aerospatial research domain, both at home and abroad.
The graduates of the specialization Avioncs Equipments and Devices have proved a good training that allowed them the access to good jobs both in the Aerospace Engineering domain and in related fields. Companies such as Geci - France, Cambric - U.S., Bombardier - Canada, Toyota - Canada, Fokker - Netherlands, Centre for Research and Flight Tests - Craiova, ROMATSA Bucharest, SC Aircrafts Craiova SA are just some of the companies in which our graduates successfully work.
